Electrical devices in the home

Wi-Fi, cordless phones and other electrical devices at home

When the power goes out, we realise just how much electrification shapes our lives and how accustomed we have become to it over the past century. After all, hardly anything in a household “works” without electricity—not even the television. Every electrical device, from toothbrushes to telephones, emits electric fields into the surrounding area, the effects of which are not yet fully understood. Add to this modern conveniences like Wi-Fi, cordless phones, and mobile phones, and it is clear that the number of such devices is not decreasing; we all know it is only growing.

Even though experts may heatedly debate the potential impact on human health, one view is gaining ground: the importance of avoiding unnecessary exposure within the home. This includes protecting the body from disruptive electromagnetic fields in areas where we sleep or rest, as well as opting against cordless phones to significantly reduce this type of exposure in the household.
