The IBR Seal of Approval was developed by Institut für Baubiologie Rosenheim GmbH to provide consumers with a clear basis for guidance when selecting tested building products.

It identifies products that have been examined according to the applicable and published IBR testing criteria and that met the requirements for the tested parameters at the time of certification. The scope and results of the testing relate exclusively to the properties, test methods, and evaluation standards defined in the respective testing programme.

The IBR Seal of Approval assists consumers in evaluating the tested products. It enables manufacturers to transparently demonstrate that testing has been conducted and that the specified requirements have been met. The IBR Seal of Approval does not imply any claims regarding properties that were not examined, individual health compatibility, or the full range of a product’s effects on health and the environment.

Product-specific testing criteria are available for numerous product groups. These specify, among other things, the object of the test, the applicable test methods, and the relevant evaluation requirements.
