Test Criteria by Product Groups The Seal of Approval has been created by the Institut für Baubiologie Rosenheim GmbH in order to make it easier for consumers to find their way through the variety of products. The IBR Seal of Approval helps consumers identify building products that have been tested against defined criteria for selected properties and parameters. This way, the Seal of Approval reassures consumers and manufacturers alike and, as a clear distinctive feature, provides the latter with a competitive edge over products that have not undergone the same testing process. Meanwhile, test criteria, which were applied by taking scientific aspects and implementation criteria into account, have been defined for nearly all product groups. This, by the way, is also true for the prefab houses industry where the Institute for Building Biology was charged with testing wall structures and other building components.
